A devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, leading to a rising death toll that has now surpassed 250. Rescuers are racing against time to find survivors amid reports of over 3,000 people missing and numerous buildings collapsed. Amid the wreckage, hopeful stories emerged, including a baby rescued from the rubble and a woman found alive after more than 36 hours. The disaster has prompted a nationwide response, with volunteers in South Florida preparing aid and a Colombian café in Portland launching fundraising efforts. The Colombian government has declared three days of mourning as the country grapples with the profound impact of this tragedy, which has strained the new administration and provoked international support, including aid pledges from the EU. As search and rescue operations continue, the community remains united in support for the victims and those affected by the quake.
