At the recent Republican National Convention, former President Trump made a bold promise to offer $5,000 checks to every American adult if the GOP secures control of both the House and Senate in the upcoming midterm elections. In his lengthy address, he attempted to energize his base by positioning himself as a key player in the election and advocating for policies that included a defense of military actions in Iran. Despite the appeal of his promise, critics have pointed out that similar past pledges have not materialized, leading to skepticism about the feasibility of this proposal. The announcement has sparked debate over whether it serves as a legitimate campaign strategy or a form of bribery to sway voters.
