As the Massachusetts Democratic primary approaches, veteran Senator Ed Markey, age 80, faces a significant challenge from younger Representative Seth Moulton. Markey, who portrays himself as a revolutionary voice for the youth, is seeking another six-year term, while Moulton campaigns on a platform of generational change and argues that Markey is too old for the position. Polls indicate that while Markey leads, there is a division among younger Democrats regarding his age. With endorsements from national progressives and a focus on pivotal issues like climate change, the primary is shaping up to be a heated battle between old and new ideologies within the party.
