The PGA Tour is set to introduce a significant change to its postseason structure starting in 2028, culminating in a two-week match play event known as the Tour Championship. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp confirmed these plans in a recent letter to fans, highlighting the departure from the traditional format and the end of the FedEx Cup trophy. The new setup aims to enhance the championship experience, incorporating a match-play bracket similar to a World Cup format. Notable figures such as Sir Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods have expressed their support for this innovation, marking a crucial shift in the future of professional golf.
