Ukraine Leads Formation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition in Paris
In a significant move to bolster European defense against ballistic missile threats, Ukraine has announced the establishment of a coalition with nine other nations. The coalition, aimed at protecting Europe from potential missile strikes, was formalized during a summit in Paris, attended by leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The initiative includes the development of the Freya anti-ballistic system, which Zelenskyy described as a more cost-effective alternative to existing defenses. Macron confirmed that Ukraine will also produce French missiles and receive Rafale fighter jets, with plans to enhance military cooperation among the coalition members. The collaborative efforts reflect a unified stance by European powers in addressing security challenges posed by aggressive actions, particularly from Russia.
