As western Europe experiences unprecedented temperatures, the UK and France are preparing for yet another heat wave, marked by alarming forecasts and record heat. July has already been declared the hottest month ever recorded in France, with temperatures approaching 40°C in various regions. The ongoing heat waves, now reaching their fifth consecutive occurrence since June, pose serious risks, including potential strains on rivers, power supplies, crops, and heightened wildfire threats. Meteorological agencies warn of exceptionally warm conditions continuing into the coming weeks, as the climate crisis deepens its toll on the continent.
