Massive Animal Rescue Operation Unfolds at Julian Sanctuary Amid Neglect Investigation
A large-scale rescue operation led by the San Diego Humane Society is currently underway at an animal sanctuary in Julian, California, where more than 600 animals, including cats, horses, and farm animals, have been rescued from appalling conditions amid an ongoing investigation into severe neglect. The operation, described as one of the largest of its kind, has revealed dire conditions for many of the animals, with some being euthanized due to their poor health. Over three days, rescuers have continued to recover additional animals, bringing the total to at least 450. Local authorities are investigating the situation, and updates from the Humane Society indicate that rescue efforts will persist until all animals are safely removed from the property.
