Fat Bear Week has returned to Katmai National Park, featuring an unprecedented number of contenders vying for the title of the most rotund bear. Among the 16 competing bears is the reigning champion, Bear 32 Chunk, who will defend his crown against an impressive lineup of salmon-stuffed rivals. The festivities kick off on September 22, with voting available for fans to help determine which bear is best prepared for winter hibernation. The event promises to be the largest and most engaging Fat Bear Week yet, following a noteworthy summer in Alaska.
