Residents of Boyle Heights are grappling with the aftermath of a devastating warehouse fire at a Lineage Logistics facility, as the cleanup process reveals significant challenges. The fire, which ignited a wave of health concerns, has left an unbearable stench from rotting food that continues to plague the neighborhood. Lineage has pledged to invest $80 to $100 million in cleanup efforts, but community members remain frustrated by lingering odors and air quality issues. Over 300 residents have filed lawsuits alleging ammonia exposure, further heightening tensions between the community and the logistics company. Local air quality regulators are under pressure to implement stricter measures, while city officials propose support plans for impacted businesses. As residents voice their demands for accountability, the ongoing efforts to mitigate the negative impact of the fire remain a central topic of discussion.
