Multiple Wildfires Affect Northern Minnesota as Containment Efforts Continue
Wildfires are currently raging in northern Minnesota, with the Flanders Fire in Crow Wing County reaching nearly 1,700 acres and reported containment at 60%. Evacuations have been ordered in impacted neighborhoods as communities rally to protect their homes. Governor Walz has activated the National Guard to aid in firefighting efforts and has been visiting affected areas, including Two Harbors, where over 30 structures have been lost to the Stewart Trail Fire. Cooler weather is providing some relief to crews battling the blazes, and multiple firefighting units have been deployed from neighboring communities. As the situation evolves, authorities continue to monitor both fires closely while residents remain in a state of alert.
