A suspected hantavirus outbreak aboard a cruise ship traversing the Atlantic Ocean has resulted in the deaths of three passengers, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The outbreak has also sickened at least three others, including a British national who is currently in intensive care. The cruise ship was reportedly en route from Argentina to Cape Verde when the outbreak occurred, sparking major health concerns regarding the transmission of this rare rodent-borne virus.
