Jared Kushner, special envoy for the Trump administration, has been actively engaged in discussions aimed at advancing a peace plan for Gaza. Recently, he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel and held talks with Hamas leaders in Cairo. Kushner has urged Netanyahu to consider a strategy for Hamas disarmament and has agreed on the need for a U.S. general to oversee the demilitarization process before Israeli withdrawal. Despite these efforts, discussions between Kushner and Netanyahu, as well as talks with Hamas, have not led to a significant breakthrough, with both sides expressing skepticism about the proposed plans. A framework for cooperation on humanitarian needs and public health in Gaza has also been established, but the path forward remains fraught with challenges.
