In a series of statements, Iranian officials have reiterated their willingness to return to a ceasefire agreement and the June interim deal with the US, contingent upon the latter honoring its commitments. Iranian President Pezeshkian expressed hopes for renewed diplomacy, emphasizing that Tehran is ready to reciprocate immediately if the US adheres to the terms of their agreements. The Iranian leadership has criticized US pressures and threats as counterproductive, asserting that these tactics threaten the possibility of meaningful negotiations. Despite ongoing military tensions, including recent exchanges of fire, Iran maintains its stance of not seeking war, while also warning that US military actions could escalate security crises in the region. With the backdrop of rising oil prices and heightened geopolitical tensions, the potential for diplomatic engagement remains on the table, provided both sides are willing to engage in good faith.
