A shooting occurred at the Pittsburg Police Department, injuring both an officer and a suspect. Reports indicate that the suspect, a convicted killer with an active gun warrant, managed to bring a firearm into the police station during the booking process. This led to an altercation in a holding cell where the suspect shot the officer before turning the gun on himself. The incident prompted the shutdown of Pittsburg City Hall and has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the failure to properly search the armed suspect.
