US and Iranian officials have expressed conflicting views on the current status of the ceasefire agreement and ongoing negotiations. While Pakistani sources suggest that both nations have agreed to extend a 60-day ceasefire ahead of an imminent deadline, Iranian officials deny any discussions regarding a ceasefire extension, emphasizing that the previous interim deal has yet to be implemented and is effectively non-existent. Senior Iranian sources have indicated that there are no current talks on extending the ceasefire and have urged the US to return to the original memorandum of understanding. The situation remains complex as both sides appear to be at an impasse, with Iran asserting that no progress is being made toward reviving the peace agreement.
