The Texas political landscape is in turmoil following the controversial social media posts of GOP nominee Bo French, which many have deemed racist. His remarks targeting University of Texas students have sparked outrage, leading figures like Senator John Cornyn and political strategist Karl Rove to publicly announce they will not support him in the upcoming election. The reaction within the Republican Party has been mixed, with some members condemning French while others remain silent, reflecting deep divisions over race and inclusion. Meanwhile, UT students have pushed back against French’s comments with their own viral responses, emphasizing their American identity amidst the backlash. As prominent Republicans distance themselves from French, the incident raises questions about the future unity of the Texas GOP amidst ongoing cultural conflicts.
